Tomas Calil came to the United States from Guatemala in 2000 to join his brother who was working in seafood processing. He has been working at Bergie's Seafood for 15 years where he is now a supervisor. He has three children. He is not sure if they will work in the fishing industry, but he plans to continue working in seafood processing in the future.

Para sacar los pedidos o sea hay clientes que necesita diferentes clases de pescados nosotros los empacamos, los metimos en la caja, pongamos hielo, cerramos la caja lo ponemos el la paleta, y lo "rapiamos" y lo mandamos en Nueva York....Si es la parte que me gusta mas, hacer eso...porque ya me tiene la experiencia entonces me gustaría hacer eso.

To process the orders, well there are customers who need different kinds of fish, we pack it, put them in the box, we put ice (in it), close up the box and put it on the pallet, we wrap it up and then we send it to New York...Yes this is what I like to do most, doing this, because I have the experience so I like doing this.
